Mitchell Fishing Reels
All things are contingent upon one another, and Mitchell Fishing Reels are no different. Unlikely as it seems, Mitchell fishing reels would not be here today if in the late 1800’s two inhabitants of a small town in France, Louis Carpano and Francois Jacottet, had not perfected their clock making skills and partnered to open a precision timepiece factory, Carpano’s. Caprano’s continued to operate as a watchmaker through World War I until 1927 when it reformed into a broad manufacturing company named Carpano and Pons. It was in that form that in 1948, an inventor and engineer employed by Carpano and Pons, Maurice Jacquemin, developed the world's first spinning reel and named it after his brother, Mitchel. Called the Mitchell300 it was a huge success, revolutionized fishing and kept Carpano and Pons in business until acquired in 2000 by PureFishing.
Mitchell fishing reels have, since their inception, been internationally famous for their innovative and high quality reels and combos. Their spinning reels have made it far easier for beginner anglers to gain prowess quickly when fishing. Having spurred the invention of many lightweight and light tackle angling products, they continue today to pursue innovation and excellence. Mitchell fishing reels are made with supreme craftsmanship, are excellent at what they do and available at an affordable cost, especially for the level of quality.
Mitchell has a range of products for amateur or beginner anglers to the die-hard, salty dogs. The many different lines and combinations of Mitchell fishing reels available range in price from the least expensive Pesca combination Mitchell fishing reels, costing around $20, to the Mitchell 300Xge Spinning reels costing $60 or more. Although there are occasional problems with line tangling in some of the lower end models, they are on average high quality, lightweight, fast and quiet reels.
